Hi, My dear judges, teachers and my fellow students, Good morning! It’s my honour to meet you here. My name is Xu Qian, I’m from HangGai Middle School. My topic today is “A Crying village”.Let me tell you a sad story about a poor village.

Long long ago, there was a beautiful village. It’s name is Happy. Look ! How nice it was! How green it was! It was among a large forst. A quiet river went through it. People lived there happily with many kinds of animals. Everything went well.  

However, With the development of the industry, everything has been changed. Trees have been taken away. The birds flew away.The earth has been blown away. Animals ran away. Flood was coming! Drought was coming! Sand storm was coming! SARS was coming!  Bird Flu was coming! The village was crying. It’s not happy any more…

Oh my friend! We have only one earth. But now,the environment becomes worse and worse.

As you know,there's no enough clean water for people. So many people lose their lives because of water. In many countries, people have to cut trees for living. So there's nothing to keep water from running away. Also we have polluted the land, the river and the air. So we have to face more and more floods and droughts . It's time that we must do something useful to protect our environment. We can plant trees and take good care of them. We can save the water and ask our parents to do so. We can't thro-w any litter onto the ground and we should collect them for rec-ycling. If we take good care of our earth today,it will be more beautiful tomorrow.
